I can’t stop, most recently I have become interested in Bitcoin and the blockchain technology. If you have been following the news lately, you know that Bitcoin is on the rise. And not just that, there are many other coins like Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash are on the rise as well.
Long story short: there are many new technologies being developed on top of the blockchain platform and the total valuation of the coins combined is more than 150 Trillion US dollars ($150,000,000,000) That’s a lot of money and ambition in this field.
Anyways, when I got interested in Bitcoin, just like the next person I was amazed by the price hike. But as I learned more about it, I realized it could be a solution to a growing pain to many people.
Crypto coins like Bitcoin is your gateway to accepting payments on the internet.
Currently the online world in Bangladesh is centered around freelancing. This is only because Payoneer is the ultimate way to get paid here. PayPal is not available in Bangladesh yet, so doing an online based business is really hard.
PayPal is the preferred payment method when doing business outside of freelancing platforms. Making a PayPal or Payoneer has legal and age restrictions.
But what about the young entrepreneur who want to sell online? Or simply just want to try this out?
With bitcoin or any other crypto currencies, you can easily create a walletwithout having to provide your IDs. Anyone in the world can create an address.
Then using this address you can accept payments globally. Someone in the USA can pay a solution provider in a country like Bangladesh.
You can then spend your bitcoin on the number of merchants who accept it as a payment method.
For example you can purchase a game from Steam gaming platform. Many gamers in this country can’t buy games simply because Bangladeshi credit cards are not allowed in Steam, and not many people have credit cards.
Another popular site Namecheap lets you buy domain and hosting using Bitcoin. With bitcoin, there are tons of services which allows you to buy things online.
Consider other alternative currencies too!
Now days there are even more promising currencies with faster transaction speeds and lower fees. Ethereum is the next top currency which also let’s you build on top of the network. Litecoin, Dash, Monero, Vertcoins are some of the other popular crypto currencies out there.
Unlike Bitcoin, alternative currencies are not that popular, but you can still use them as a means of accepting payments.
In conclusion I must say,
Bitcoin and other crypto currencies out there are open to everyone. Anyone who is interested to build a global business can start accepting payments quickly and effortlessly.
